Little Rock Fashion Week is going into its fifth year and as expected it’s looking to be bigger than previous LRFWs. In order to make this possible LRFW Founder and President Brandon D. Campbell and D.C. Fashion Week Founder & Executive Director Ean Williams are collaborating. LRFW 5, scheduled for July 15-20, is featuring designs by DCFW’s 2012 Top Emerging Designer Jessiica Howell, of Houston.

“This is an amazing opportunity for fashion designers to expand their brands and network into critical markets in order to grow their business,” says Campbell. “I’m excited for us to work alongside one of the top fashion productions in the U.S. and to have Jessiica Howell Fashions presented at LRFW 5.”

DCFW and LRFW’s staff chose Jessiica Howell Fashions after evaluating the clothing lines from several emerging designers from DCFW’s September 2012 shows. “We are delighted to hear that DCFW designer alumni Jessiica Howell will participate in LRFW,” says Williams. “Jessiica Howell Fashions embodies real women fashions with classic styling as well as on staying on trend with flattering silhouettes and bold contemporary patterns.”

Howell, founder of Jessiica Howell Fashions, is set to debut her Fall/Winter line at LRFW’s BIG Night on July 20th at the Robinson Exhibition Hall.
“When Brandon contacted me about Little Rock Fashion Week and asked if I wanted to be a part of it I was excited,” says Howell. “I thought it would be a great opportunity for exposure and opportunity to interact with people in the industry and bring awareness to my line.”

Howell also says, “One of my signatures is the fact that I mostly design gowns and one piece jumpsuits. I want the models and women adorned in Jessiica Howell Fashions from head to toe.”

Working with LRFW and DCFW has given designers such as Jessiica Howell access to buyers, more attention from fashion media and interests from potential customers to increase sales. In addition, whichever designer’s label is announced LRFW 2013 Clothing Line of the Year after LRFW 5 will have a chance to showcase their Spring/Summer line in Washington D.C. at DCFW, which is being held September 23-29, 2013.

The collaboration will up the ante on the friendly competition for the designers. LRFW’s Big Night is Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Robinson Exhibition Hall, located at 7 Statehouse Plaza; Little Rock, Ark 72201.
Advanced tickets to LRFW’s BIG Night start at $35 and are available for purchased at http://www.LittleRockFashionWeek.com, http://www.LRFW.TicketLeap.com, Hearne Fine Art, Gallery 26, Uncle T’s and The Treasure Chest in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Come out and partake in a night of fashion and festivities in what will become a cultural movement for the city of Little Rock!

Black Fashion Focus 2010 Showcase to benefit Metro TeenAIDS
and Celebrate Emerging African-American Fashion Designers

The nation’s capitol has an HIV infection rate estimated at 1 in 20 persons. In an effort to curtail the meteoric rise of infections, the nation’s African-American fashion community responds with a benefit event to raise funds for a local youth health organization that is tackling the issue head-on. Black Fashion Focus 2010, to be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, is the merger of creativity and philanthropy to benefit Metro TeenAIDS.

Black Fashion Focus 2010 also shines the light on promising African-American fashion designers from across the United States. The evening’s showcase will feature designs from Dena Burton of Los Angeles, California; Essence Flowers of Tampa, Florida; Prajje Jean-Baptiste of Boston, Massachusetts; Travis Cal of Houston, Texas; and Kenny “Kas” Flanagan of Washington, D.C. In selecting the evening’s designers, considerable emphasis was placed on the broad appeal a designer’s collection exudes, as well as excellence in creative design.

Tickets for the event are $75 for general admission and $120 for VIP admission, and can be purchased at http://www.blackfashionfocus.com. Proceeds from the evening help to provide unrestricted funding for Metro TeenAIDS at a most critical time.

Coinciding with the Annual Legislative Conference of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the evening is sure to be a sell-out social gathering of movers-and-shakers, fashionistas and the socially conscious to support the dynamic work of Metro TeenAIDS.
